Samay Raina’s Four Shows Cancelled In Gujarat 

Mumbai, 13 February 2025: Samay Raina’s shows of stand-up comedy get canceled in Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. According to the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), tickets for Raina’s April show in the state have been taken down from BookMyShow, the booking platform.

According to Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput, Samay Raina was supposed to perform in Surat on April 17, Vadodara on April 18, and Ahmedabad on April 19 and 20. This led to termination due to the outrage of people in Gujarat against the recent controversy centrally involving Ranveer Allahbadia, the face of Beer Biceps, and host Samay Raina on his show India’a Got Latent. A vulgar statement and questions from Ranveer to one of the contestants and the response of audiences and co-judges to the statement have sparked controversy in the nation since Monday when the clips for the episode went viral.

Even after the apology video of Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina deleting the video, the matter is not turning silent instead, more memes, social media comments, opinions, and viral clips are increasing the sensitivity and alertness of the incident.

Such comments on parents and sex on a platform of comedy backfired on both the podcaster Allahbadia and host Raina. Outrage is seen all over the country, mainly in Maharashtra and Guwahati. As a result of social media’s outrage, the fire continues in Gujarat, and it is seen that such vulgarity won’t be appreciated in the dry state.

Raina is seen deleting all the clips from the show and saying, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

The cancellation of four shows in Gujarat scheduled in April is all part and parcel of people’s outrage and a clear indication that anything under the umbrella of comedy won’t be applauded.
