Pune, 15th December 2025: A 4 km river walk under the “Save Mula–Mutha River” initiative was held on December 14, starting promptly at 7.30 am, with the participation of around 30 members from various Rotary Clubs of Rotary District 3131.

The walk was guided by Jeevitnadi and Rotaractors, who introduced participants to the rich flora and fauna of the Mutha River. The group learned about the river’s history and its diverse biodiversity, including native trees, aquatic plants and bird species such as ducks, storks, hornbills and kingfishers.

As temperatures dipped in the early morning, fog hovering over the river added to the serene atmosphere. The guided trail seamlessly moved from nature to history and mythology, keeping participants engaged throughout. Rotaractors Sai and Tara played a key role in making the walk informative and engaging by sharing lesser-known facts and stories associated with the river.

Arambh Foundation, the second collaborating organisation, contributed to the conservation effort by installing a bonding box to provide shelter for sparrows.

After completing the 4 km walk, participants
departed refreshed and energised, carrying with them a shared commitment to protecting and restoring a clean and healthy Mula–Mutha River.
District Director Rtn Rajendra Saraf delivered a brief address highlighting the importance of adopting a chemical-free lifestyle in daily life.

The organisers expressed gratitude to all participating Rotary Clubs and members for their enthusiastic involvement.
