Savitribai Phule Pune University pays tribute to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule
Pune, 28th November 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University on Friday paid homage to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, the pioneering social reformer and champion of women’s education, on his death anniversary.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi offered a wreath at Phule’s statue near the administrative building, marking the tribute ceremony.
Acting Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Bhakare, Dean Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Patil, Director and Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension Prof. (Dr.) Vilas Adhav, Adhisabha members Prof. (Dr.) Harsh Jagzhap and Sumit Dhore, Dr. Sudhakar Bokephode, Head of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Adhyasana Dr. Sanjay Desale, Deputy Registrar Dr. Munjaji Rasave, and other dignitaries were present to pay respects to Krantisurya Mahatma Phule.
Senior officials, faculty members, representatives of staff and student organizations, non-teaching staff, and students attended the ceremony in large numbers.
