Savitribai Phule Pune University to Showcase Indian Illustrators’ Artwork

Pune, 11th January 2024: On Saturday (January 13), Savitribai Phule Pune University is set to host an exhibition featuring the artistic creations of illustrators from across the nation.

This event, organized by the Indian Illustrators Group (IIG), will highlight the works of 22 talented illustrators. Dr. Suresh Gosavi, the Vice Chancellor of SPPU, will inaugurate the exhibition.

The Indian Illustrators Group (IIG), founded by renowned cartoonist and illustrator Suraj Eskay Sriram, has rapidly grown to include approximately 50 members from diverse regions of the country. Affiliated with the Museum of Cartoon Art, the group aims to promote and celebrate the art of illustration.

The exhibition, taking place in the Main Building of the University, will be open to the public from 11 am to 2 pm. Dr. Madhavi Reddy, Head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, along with Dr. Priya Gohad, Curator at the Museum of Cartoon Art, has played a crucial role in organizing this event.
