New Plant  Inaugurated on the occasion of completion of 20 years

Pune, 28 May –Seco Tools India has made rapid strides in the  past two decades of its operations in India and I have personally witnessed its growth. I would like to see more growth coming from its operations from here,” said noted industrialist and chairman of Bharat Forge Baba Kalyani on Friday.

Mr. Kalyani was speaking on  the occasion of inauguration of the new state of the art office and factory building of Seco Tools India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seco Tools AB at Koregaon Bheema.  Lars Bergstrom, Group President and CEO, Seco Tools AB, Sweden, Andreas Fritz, Managing Director and Sr. Vice President Asia Pacific and other top  executives of the company were present on the occasion.

The inauguration coincided with the completion of the 20 years of company’s operations in India. The theme of the program was ’20 years of technical expertise, passion and productivity’.  The company had invited more than 300 customers at this occasion. The company had started its operations in India on May 27, 1996.

 Kalyani was all praise for the efforts taken by  Seco  management to maintain the standard of production and its service to the customers. He said, “It is very impressive to see the progress that the Seco Tools India has made. I have personal interest in seeing its expansion because I am one of the customers of the company. It is great to have partners like Seco. It has brought technology from parent company from Sweden and is very important for an emerging economy like India. I wish all the best for the company for its future strides.”

In his address, Bergstrom explained the importance of the occasion adding, “It is a great day today. For us, the plant in Pune is extremely strategic because the Pune plant is our biggest plant outside Europe in terms of production capacity. We want to expand our presence in India and in other countries also through the exports made from here. We will increase the capability and capacity of this plant. At present, our strength here is 600 employees and very shortly, we will reach to the figure of 1000”.

 Bergstrom appealed to the customers to come up with more demands. “Challenge us with the machining and we will develop well with your cooperation,” he said.

Outlining the 20-year long journey of the company in India, Andreas Fritz said that Seco Tools has 33,000 products in its portfolio globally and most of them are manufactured in the Pune plant. All these products are of global standard. “It is very exciting to live in India during such times  personally as well as professionally. Our expansion will go on it future also,” he informed.

Referring to the Make In India campaign initiated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi,. Fritz said that Seco India has been doing the local manufacturing of it tools in line with the government’s policy for past 20 years.
