New Delhi, 27th January 2022: Seeing increasing cases of corona in the country, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has written to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and union territories asking them to issue necessary instructions to the concerned officers for effective management of the epidemic.

 

Ajay Bhalla has asked all the States and Union Territories to follow all necessary precautions regarding COVID-19.

 

The Central Government said on Thursday that there have been signs of no reduction in the cases of Covid infection in some places, which needs attention. The weekly infection rate of Covid-19 is more than 10 percent in 400 districts of the country. Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan have the highest number of cases of Covid-19. In such a situation, there is a need to be very careful to prevent the epidemic.

 

Earlier in his weekly press conference, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry, Lav Aggarwal said that in the case of patients under treatment of Covid-19, 10 states contribute more than 77 percent of the total cases under treatment in the country. There is a clear trend from the current data that oxygenated and ICU beds were required in some cases of Covid-19. Therefore, utmost care needs to be taken.

 

It is worth mentioning that during the last 24 hours in the country, the total cases of corona increased to 4,03,71,500 due to the infection of 2,86,384 more people. At the same time, the death toll has increased to 4,91,700 with 573 deaths due to the epidemic in a single day.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, at present, there are 22,02,472 active cases in the country. The daily positivity rate is 19.59 percent while the weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 17.75 percent.
