Senior Citizen Dies After Pune Metro Barricade Falls On Him

Kothrud, 20th October 2021: In an unfortunate incident senior citizen who was waiting for the city bus died after an iron barricade used for the Pune Metro project fell on him.

Pune City Police has registered a case against the contractor of the project.

Deceased Maruti Laxman Navskar (64) was waiting for a bus to Pirangut at Vanaz corner bus stop in Kothrud. Suddenly, the iron barricade fell upon him. He was seriously injured in the accident.

“His head and legs were badly damaged. He was admitted to the hospital but he died during the treatment”, said the doctors treating him.

Kothrud police station has registered a case against the contractor for negligence. Police sub-inspector Kisan Rathod is further investigating the case.
