Sexual Assault of 10-Year-Old Girl Foiled in Pune, Brave Sister Rescues Sibling; Accused Arrested

Pune, 11th April 2025: A horrifying case of an attempted sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl was foiled in the Bibwewadi area of Pune on Friday.
However, the girl’s elder sister bravely kicked down the door of the accused’s house and rescued her. The accused, identified as 37-year-old Ashkya alias Ashok, has been arrested by the Bibwewadi police.

According to police officials, the accused is physically disabled and resides alone in a temporary shed in the locality. The victim’s family, showing compassion, had been regularly helping him with food and other essentials. On the afternoon of April 5, the younger girl had gone to deliver milk to his residence when the accused allegedly tried to sexually assault her.

Reports indicate that he forcibly held the child, covered her mouth, and began engaging in obscene behavior. However, the girl’s elder sister, who was nearby, heard suspicious noises and acted immediately. She rushed to the shed, kicked open the door, and managed to rescue her sister from the accused’s grasp.

Following the incident, the victim’s parents filed a complaint at the Bibwewadi Police Station. The accused was arrested on the same day. Senior police officials have lauded the elder sister’s bravery, stating that her swift action likely prevented a far more serious crime.
