Shiv Sena MLA Advocates Renaming of ‘Mohammedwadi’ to ‘Mahadevwadi’ in Pune
Mohammedwadi, 25th November 2023: Bharat Gogawale, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Mahad constituency in Raigad, belonging to the Shiv Sena party, has formally requested Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to consider changing the name of the ‘Mohammedwadi’ area to ‘Mahadevwadi.’
Shiv Sena Pune city chief Pramod (Nana) Bhangire shared this development through the party’s official handle, expressing, “Mohammedwadi will now become Mahadevwadi!!! Shiv Sena’s MLA Bharat Gogawale has requested the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde to rename Mohammedwadi as #Mahadevwadi, Jai Maharashtra, Jai Shri Ram.”
The communication to CM Eknath Shinde highlights the persistent demand from Pune city residents for renaming Mohammedwadi to Mahadevwadi.
Gogawale, in his letter, urges the Chief Minister to take necessary steps to address this request, emphasizing the importance of considering the sentiments of the people in the Hadapsar area of Pune city.
