Panaji, 9th January 2024: Suchana Seth, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a startup company, has been arrested in Karnataka for allegedly killing her four-year-old son in Goa. The motive behind the crime remains unknown as Suchana Seth has not been interrogated yet.

Suchana Seth, currently going through divorce proceedings, separated from her husband. The real reason behind the tragic incident is yet to be determined. The 39-year-old CEO of Mindful AI Lab was staying in a Goa hotel with her son when the incident occurred.

The question of whether Suchana Seth was undergoing mental stress remains unanswered. The circumstances leading to the killing of her son with a sharp weapon are unclear, and the motive behind the murder is yet to be established.

Although arrested in Karnataka, Suchana Seth has not been interrogated yet. A senior official indicated that the interrogation would take place upon her return to Goa. The arrest occurred in Chitradurga, Karnataka, with the accused being taken back to Goa.

Goa’s Calangute police have registered a case under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Goa Juvenile Act. The Superintendent of Police (SP) mentioned that the motive behind the murder would only be known after thorough interrogation.

Suchana hails from West Bengal and resides in Bengaluru, while her husband, originally from Kerala, is currently in Jakarta, Indonesia. Authorities have informed Suchana’s husband about the incident, and the exact cause of the child’s death will be determined after a post-mortem examination.

On January 6, Suchana checked into a rented service apartment in Candolim, North Goa, with her son. After a two-day stay, she informed the staff of her intention to travel to Bengaluru for work and left the hotel on January 8 alone in a taxi, carrying a heavy suitcase. Her son was not seen with her during this departure.

When apartment staff discovered bloodstains in Suchana’s room, they immediately informed the police. Investigation revealed that after allegedly killing her son, Suchana asked the hotel staff to book a taxi for her. The police were misled when Suchana claimed to have left her son with a friend in Malgaon. However, a subsequent search revealed the 4-year-old’s body in Suchana’s bag at Mangala Police Station Chitrakoot.
