Shocking Pune Incident: Iron Rods from Pickup Vehicle Ram into Car on Busy Highway
Balewadi, 9th February 2026: A horrifying incident was reported from the Balewadi–Wakad Highway in Pune, where dangerously protruding iron rods being transported on a pickup van pierced through a Maruti Ertiga following behind. Visuals from the scene show the iron rod entering the car from the front and reaching up to the dashboard after the pickup driver suddenly applied brakes.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident is being described as a near-fatal accident that could have easily claimed lives.
The episode has once again exposed serious violations of traffic and transport safety norms. Despite being a busy urban stretch with regular traffic movement, such hazardous transportation went unchecked, raising serious questions about enforcement and accountability.
