Pune, 22nd May 2024: In a startling twist to the Pune car accident case involving builder Vishal Agarwal’s minor son, revelations have surfaced about the family’s alleged ties to the underworld, particularly with notorious don Chhota Rajan. Vishal Agarwal, owner of Bramha Realty and Infrastructure, whose son was involved in the tragic accident that claimed two lives while driving under the influence of alcohol, has been arrested in connection with the case.

Vishal Agarwal’s father, Surendra Kumar Agarwal, reportedly had a relationship with underworld don Chhota Rajan. It has been disclosed that Surendra Agarwal sought Chhota Rajan’s assistance in a property dispute with his brothers, leading to a case registered against him for attempted murder at Bund Garden Police Station involving Shiv Sena leader Ajay Bhosle. During the 2009 assembly election, there was a firing on Bhosale around 10.30 am on October 11, 2009.

Pune police had initially registered a case against Surendra Kumar Agarwal under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) without invoking more severe charges. He was not arrested until the chargesheet was filed, raising questions about the handling of the case.

Further scrutiny reveals that Surendra Agarwal’s connections with Chhota Rajan extend to his grandson. In 2007-08, Surendra Agarwal reportedly sought assistance from Chhota Rajan through his associate Vijay Tambat to resolve a property dispute with his brother. This resulted in a case of attempted murder being filed against Surendra Agarwal, with the matter later transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) along with other cases related to Chhota Rajan. CBI registered a fresh case in 2017.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations and the family’s alleged underworld connections, Vishal Agarwal’s 17-year-old son received preferential treatment while in police custody following the Porsche car accident in Kalyani Nagar on Sunday (May 19). He was granted bail within 15 hours. While in the custody of the Yerwada police station, he was being offered pizza and a burger.

Moreover, it appears that the police had previously made special efforts to assist the Agarwal family in dealing with legal matters, indicating a deeper connection between the family and law enforcement.
