SIBM Pune Gives Seed Funding For A few Student Start-ups

Pune, 25th January 2022: SIBM Pune is one of the premier Indian B-Schools which offers a two-year MBA program with specialization in Marketing, Human Resource, Operations, Finance, and Data Analytics specializations. The school also offers a unique two-year MBA Innovation and Entrepreneurship program for budding entrepreneurs.

Through the Flagship Event – “The Pitch” student start-ups had an opportunity to showcase their start-ups to a four-judge panel to judge the start-ups (which were made to go through 4 rounds of preliminary selection process) from different sectors. The Innovation Club- a student driven club of SIBM Pune did a detailed planning and execution of the event in a meticulous way. The start-ups were judged based on the Problem identified; Solution provided; Distinctive Competence, Feasibility and Viability of the idea; Customer Understanding; Market Research, Analysis & Scope; Competitive Advantage; and the Revenue Model. Finally, three start-ups HabitUp and  SwayamCare were selected for receiving the seed fund.

HabitUp, a startup by Mansi Shah & R. Promoth Kumar students pursuing their second year MBA(I&E) will get a seed fund of Rs.1,00,000 and SwayamCare a start-up by Ninad Achaalkar student pursuing his second year MBA(I&E) will get a seed fund of Rs. 75,000

Speaking about the start-ups Dr Ramakrishnan Raman shared that “HabitUp is a habit tracking application that helps users build and break habits with ease and SwayamCare manufactures and sells Pulse Oximeter they have plans to manufacture and deliver sophisticated health-related solutions at affordable prices to the community and reduce imports’ dependability in the health sector. Through “PITCH” we could encourage these start-ups in a very small way. The Innovation club of SIBM Pune under the guidance of Prof. Dr C P Gupta and Prof. Arjun Panchal did an excellent job in running this event”
