SIMS INTERNATIONAL LECTURE SERIES HOSTS SESSION ON CONTEMPORARY BEST PRACTICES IN ACADEMIC RESEARCH WRITING
Pune, 4th February 2025: The International Lecture Series at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune, conceptualized by Brig. (Dr.) Rajiv Divekar, Director, SIMS & Dean, Faculty of Management, SIU, serves as a unique platform for students to interact with global thought leaders and gain valuable insights into present business challenges and opportunities.
On February 4, 2025, a guest lecture titled “Contemporary Best Practices in Academic Research Writing – Perspectives for Business Management Students” was conducted for MBA students. This session focused on enhancing research capabilities and improving academic writing skills critical for aspiring business professionals.
The guest speaker, Dr. Swati Vispute, Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, brought her extensive experience in academic research methodologies, scholarly publishing, and business education. She provided valuable insights into structuring high-quality research papers, addressing common challenges in academic writing, and aligning research with contemporary business trends.
The lecture emphasized critical aspects such as research integrity, the importance of a well-defined research question, effective literature reviews, and the role of AI-driven tools in improving academic writing. Dr. Vispute also highlighted best practices for publishing in reputed journals and shared strategies for enhancing the impact of research in the business management domain.
Using real-world examples from her academic journey and industry experience, Dr. Vispute guided students on how to develop a strong research mindset and cultivate analytical skills essential for academic excellence and professional success.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sanjay Pawar, Associate Professor at SIMS, Pune, who ensured its smooth execution and encouraged interactive engagement among participants.
