Pune, 15th January 2025: The International Lecture Series at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune, initiated by Brig. (Dr.) Rajiv Divekar, Director of SIMS & Dean of the Faculty of Management at SIU, continues to serve as an invaluable platform for students to engage with global thought leaders and gain insights into critical business challenges and emerging trends.

On January 15, 2025, a guest lecture titled “Using Technology to Drive Supply Chain Best Practices” was conducted in an online format for MBA students. The session focused on how organizations can leverage technology to enhance supply chain efficiency, improve sustainability, and achieve operational agility.

The guest speaker, Ms. Jayshree Ravi, Head of Strategy and Architecture at Lagom Group, New Zealand shared her expertise on supply chain management and technology-driven optimization strategies. She outlined key components of a supply chain, essential metrics for performance measurement, and the role of digital tools in driving efficiency.

Ms. Ravi emphasized the importance of planning, sourcing, procurement, and risk management in supply chains while highlighting the need for resilience and sustainability. The session also covered the impact of data analytics, AI, and automation on modern supply chains, illustrating how technology helps organizations navigate complexities and adapt to changing market demands.

The session began with an introduction by Paul Sequosh, CEO of Lagom, who provided an overview of the firm’s expertise in SAP consulting, business case development, implementation services, change management, and systems integration. He highlighted Lagom’s collaborations with major New Zealand organizations.

Throughout the lecture, Ms. Ravi shared real-world best practices and case studies, helping students understand how leading organizations are optimizing their supply chains through technology-driven innovation and ethical business practices. She also stressed the role of green supply chains in promoting environmental sustainability.

The event provided a valuable learning experience, equipping student managers with knowledge of technological advancements in supply chain management and preparing them to drive agility and efficiency in their future corporate roles. The event was moderated by Dr Pradnya Chitrao, Professor, SIMS Pune, who ensured its smooth execution and encouraged interactive engagement among participants.
