SIMS INTERNATIONAL LECTURE SERIES HOSTS SESSION ON GLOBAL TRENDS IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT BEING TIGHT-LOOSE WITH YOUR SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Pune, 22nd January 2025: The International Lecture Series at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune, conceptualized by Brig. (Dr.) Rajiv Divekar, Director, SIMS & Dean, Faculty of Management, SIU, continues to provide a unique platform for students to interact with global thought leaders and gain valuable insights into the current business challenges and opportunities.
On January 22, 2025, a guest lecture titled “Being Tight-Loose with Your Summer Internship” was conducted for MBA students. This session provided valuable perspectives on effectively navigating summer internships and leveraging them for career growth.
The guest speaker, Mr. Ganapathy Iyer, a Management Consultant, Leadership Development Practitioner, and Facilitator from New Zealand, shared his expertise in leadership development, organizational behavior, and professional growth. With his extensive experience in mentoring and coaching professionals, he provided students with practical strategies to maximize their internship experiences.
The lecture focused on the concept of balancing structure and flexibility in internships. Mr. Iyer emphasized the importance of adaptability, initiative, and critical thinking in making the most of internship opportunities. He highlighted how students can develop essential skills, build professional networks, and enhance their experience by taking a proactive approach during their internships and helping organizations solve pressing problems.
Using real-world examples and interactive discussions, Mr. Iyer guided students on setting clear internship goals, handling workplace challenges, and effectively communicating their contributions to organizations.
