Sony Marathi launches Jay Jay Maharashtra Majha

PUNE, 27 November 2019: Sony Marathi, which has been bringing one great programme after another for television viewers, will present yet another gem – Jay Jay Maharashtra Majha. This will be a veritable treat for each one who loves Maharashtra and wishes to know more about this great land.

While it will give special insights into the revered traditions of culture and folk arts of Maharashtra, the programme is an endeavour of Sony Marathi to revive the different forms of Maharashtra’s folk arts from parts of the state. Maharashtra’s idol and prominent actor Subodh Bhave who has entertained the Marathi viewers through his diverse roles in cinema and television, will be the narrator of the programme.

Folk art forms such as Shahiri Laavni, Powada, Tamasha, Bhajan, Keertan, Bharud, Gondhal or Vasudev will be presented in this presentation. Viewers will be treated to the performing prowess of artists such as national award winner Shakutai Nagarkar and Nishant Shaikh who has been carrying the mantle of great Shahir Amarshaikh.

The programme which will be aired for viewers from 2nd December on every Monday and Tuesday at 9 pm, will open up with presentation of Maharashtra Geet and seasoned singers – Adarsh Shinde, Nandesh Umap, Kartiki Gaikwad and Prasanjit Kosambi will take it forward.
