‘Speak Less, Prepare Well’: Supriya Sule’s Advice to Parth Pawar After Rajya Sabha Nomination
Mumbai/Pune, 6th March 2026: Senior leader Sharad Pawar and Parth Pawar filed their nominations for the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (March 5) at the Vidhan Bhavan. Leaders from both factions of the Nationalist Congress Party were present in large numbers during the submission of the nomination papers.
Supriya Sule expressed gratitude to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the Indian National Congress for supporting Sharad Pawar’s candidature. She also shared advice for Parth Pawar, who is set to enter the Rajya Sabha for the first time.
When asked what advice she would give Parth Pawar as an aunt, Sule recalled the guidance she had received from her father, Sharad Pawar. “In both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, keep your ears open, speak less, and when you get the opportunity to speak, ensure that you are thoroughly prepared,” she said.
Sule added that Parliament consists of highly knowledgeable members and that the proceedings are closely watched across the country, making the role a significant responsibility.
She also recalled the advice Sharad Pawar gave her when she first entered the Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament. “He told me to always remember that the opportunity to step into Parliament came because of the people of the Baramati constituency,” she said.
“Every member tries to stay true to that sentiment. If anyone asks me, whether as an aunt, sister, or colleague, I would offer the same advice that my father gave me,” Sule added.
