Sports Mania set must-win final round
Pune, 1st April 2025: Sports Mania continued their quest to qualify by registering a confident 3-0 win over Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) in Round-9 of the AIFF Sub Junior League 2024-25 at the Cooperage ground on Monday.
The win took Sports Mania to 17 points (9 matches) and maintained third position behind Desouza F.A (18 points) and leave the final round in a do-or- die second position finish. Mumbai City (25 points) lead the group.
The ‘Final Day’ (Round-10) fixtures have Mumbai City FC pitted against Dsouza FA and Sports Mania pitted against SSE BFC Soccer Schools.
Meanwhile, for Sports Mania a win against Dsouza will help finish in second place in the group. Sports Mania cannot afford to draw or lose their last match in their bid to qualify (top two teams qualify).
On Monday, Sports Mania dominated proceedings and netted all their goals in the second session.
A goal each by R Karthikeya 53′; Hitaansh Khatri 62′ and Ishaan Banerji 69′ completed the win for Sports Mania.
