At the event, Mr Desai, a well-known name in start-up mentoring in Western India, will speak on his favourite topic and something that every entrepreneur today is keen to learn about – “the brand strategy”. BLC, a specialized start-up mentoring wing under the aegis of Seagull Advertising, is a first-of-its-kind Start-up Launch Accelerator set up to help consumer-focused Start-ups to go to market like any MNC, through a well-structured process phrased appropriately as Wings for Profit. Working with numerous successful start-ups under BLC, Mr Desai is a well-known expert on brand building and mentoring.

Startup Saturday, Mumbai (SSMUM) is a session organised by the Headstart Network Foundation, a Sec 25 company, established in 2008. The upcoming SSMUM is its 103rd edition, the central theme of which is Branding Basics for Start-ups. The programme will cover marketing and branding challenges of the fledgling start-ups including Brand Strategy, Brand Design and Brand Communication. The session will begin with an introductory session at 2:30 PM, followed by Mr Sameer Desai’s speech at 3:15 PM. A Knowledge-Sharing session will follow that will continued till 6:00 PM, where experts in multiple domains from the industry will be joining.

Speaking about the need to build strong consumer brands in the country, Mr. Sameer Desai says, “There is no death of individuals with creative and innovative ideas that can be turned into profitable businesses. Unfortunately, not every idea gets converted into a sustainable, game-changing business proposition. What is needed for our start-up community is a focussed way of managing all the risks and hurdles that come in the way of brand building. Indians entrepreneurs are full of innovative ideas and BLC offers to provide them the wings and a sustainable position that these ideas deserve.
