Stolen Gold Worth Rs 52 Lakh Recovered, Returned to Owners
Pune, 11st September 2026: Samarth police have recovered gold jewellery and other valuables worth around Rs 52 lakh stolen in a series of housebreaking cases and returned the property to its rightful owners.
Police said the accused, who were allegedly involved in multiple housebreaking offences, were traced through a combination of technical analysis, CCTV footage and information from confidential sources. They were subsequently arrested and questioned about the thefts.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed details of several housebreaking cases, leading police to recover stolen gold and silver jewellery and other valuables.
After completing the necessary legal formalities, the recovered property was handed over to the original complainants following a court order. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Krushikesh Rawale handed over the valuables to the owners.
The complainants expressed satisfaction with the investigation and the swift recovery of their property.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, joint commissioner Sanjay Darade, additional commissioner (Western Region) Rajesh Bansode, DCP Krushikesh Rawale and ACP Sachin Hire of Faraskhana division.
