Students Set The Intercity Express On Fire In Bihar; Other States Also Joined The Protest Against The Agnipath Scheme

Bihar, 16th June 2022: The protests against Agnipath Scheme announced by the central government intensifies in various states.

The students in many districts of Bihar started the protests against the scheme. Today many more students from districts like Munger, Kaimur, Saharsa, Chapra, came out to protest.

In Kaimur, students set the Intercity Express on fire. At other places, students are protesting by setting fire to tires or by blocking the roads and railways.

Apart from Bihar, the students from Rajasthan have also started the protests. They blocked the Delhi-Jaipur highway.

The youth preparing for army recruitment started protests in Bareilly, UP.

The protests started from Bihar is now spreading in different parts of the country.

Amidst this, many politicians have also expressed their views regarding the ‘Agnipath’ Scheme.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the demand of the youth is right. He has also advised the Modi government that the youth should be given a chance to serve the country not only for 4 years but for the whole life.

Senior Congress Leader and Former Home Minister P Chidambaram said, “The scheme is controversial, has many risks, destroys the age-old traditions and ethos of the armed forces and there is no guarantee that the soldiers recruited under this scheme will be better trained and motivated to defend the country.”
