New Delhi, 3rd January 2023: Today (January 3), the Supreme Court decided to hear two petitions from the Delhi High Court and Kerala High Court asking for the recognition of same-sex marriage in India on Friday.

Before a bench made up of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha, Senior Advocate Menaka Guruswamy and Advocate Karuna Nundy mentioned the transfer applications.

A PIL submitted by Supriyo Chakiraborty and Abhay Dang was among the batch. They have been together for ten years and recently held a commitment ceremony in December 2021 where their parents, family, and friends blessed their relationship.
