Officers, Jawans and the their families from all units of Pune Camp and civilians living in the Cantonment turned up in large numbers to support the ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’. Approx 4000 soldiers, civilians and school children came on the streets, parks and living quarters and carried out cleaning of their areas. The garbage was collected, segregated and disposed off in the earmarked areas. 
 
Street plays, flag marches and seminars were organised during the ‘Swachhata Pakhawada’, which was successfully conducted from 01 to 15  December 2016. Pune Cantonment area has been declared as a ‘Plastic Free Zone’. All residents have been advised to refrain from using plastic begs. 11 December 2016 was observed as ‘Zero Emission Day’ where in all vehicles were kept off the road. Besides cleaning, proper disposal of all garbage was organised. Dustbins have been placed at various locations to ensure correct disposal of dry and wet garbage. Through this drive all soldiers have demonstrated their whole hearted and willing support to the ‘Swachh Bharat’ initiative launched by Mr Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
