Symbiosis International (Deemed University) celebrates International Day of Yoga across all its campus’ and four villages.

On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Symbiosis Centre for Yoga, under the aegis of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) announces teaching of yoga and of meditation based on the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam at four villages (Sus, Nande and Rehae) and across campuses in Pune, NOIDA, Hyderabad, Nashik and Bengaluru (on June 21, 2018). Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, SIU along with international students from across Pune will celebrate Yoga day on June 20, 2018 at 4pm at Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Lavale campus.

This year the theme is ‘Unity of Mind & Body’ and 108 days yoga challenge. With the routine asanas, Symbiosis wishes to inculcate and foster an understanding that the whole world is one family via an innovative practice namely meditation on ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam’ through the concept of ‘Unity of Mind & Body’.

It is a yogic philosophy emanating from a spiritual understanding that the whole of humanity is made of one life energy. This meditation would help release the suppressed energy and negative emotions, so that a feeling of oneness with the entire world can be experienced. This day will also see the 108 days Yoga Challenge being announced. In 2019, the challenge comprises of increasing the number of Suryanamaskars so as to culminate in an open 108 Suryanamaskar performance.
