Symbiosis International (Deemed University) shines in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022: Business & Management Studies

Pune, 23rd June 2022: The QS world university rankings by subject are based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. Five components used to rank universities in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 include Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Research citations per paper, H-index and International Research Network (by broad-faculty area).

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022: Business & Management Studies a total of 17 Indian Institutions were included. Six Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and six Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) were included in the ranking. Indian Institute of Science and the University of Delhi were also ranked. From the list of private institutions, the Indian School of Business, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, and Symbiosis International (Deemed University) are featured in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022: Business & Management Studies.

The institutions which scored very high on citations per paper were IISC (100), IIT Roorkee (95.50), ISB Hyderabad (90.4) and Symbiosis International (Deemed University) scored 87.7 Also, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) scored 85.5 for the H-index Citations. This was higher than all other Indian Institutions which were included in the ranking by Subject 2022: Business & Management Studies.

The h-index is an author-level metric that measures both the productivity and citation impact of the publications, initially used by a professor or research scholar. The index is based on the set of the professor’s most cited papers and the number of citations that they have received in other publications. The index is applied to the productivity and impact of a scholarly journal as well as an entity such as a department or university or country.

Sharing his views Dr Ramakrishnan Raman, Dean, Faculty of Management Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and Director Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune, said, “While we take due care to impart useful skills and prepare leaders for the corporate world by instilling ethical behaviour practises, we are now also known for the research output which is grounded on actual business practices. Our focus on applied research related to AI and ML has immensely helped us to increase the citations per paper. The collaborative research approach of our faculty members and the guidance given by our distinguished professors made it possible to achieve this feat.”
