Pune, 21st December 2022: The new Pune Police Commissioner, Retesh Kumaarr, indicated that he intends to employ more technology to track the movement of traffic police in real time with a simple click.

He has also chosen to bolster the Cybercrime department with cutting-edge technologies. Kumaarr wants to use technology to solve problems in Pune related to traffic, crime, and other concerns. He is a firm believer in technology and has experience in modernising departments with it.

According to the commissioner, the department plans to employ technology to monitor the traffic wardens’ whereabouts and movement in real time throughout the city. They are thinking about using interactive real-time technologies. Second, the police have divided their traffic staff according to the schedule of peak hours due to a lack of personnel, especially during peak hours and weekends.

After getting complaints of rude behaviour by traffic branch police personnel, the city top cop ordered them to talk politely with citizens. He will also organise training sessions for the police personnel.

 

The commissioner also stated his vision to implement technology in curbing sextortion cases and cybercrime, reduce organised crimes, and develop various departments of the police and crime forces.
