Target is to Create 1 lakh 75 thousand Ayushman Arogya Mandir: J.P. Nadda

Pune, 26th April 2025: Before 2017 the healthcare policies in India were curative but now under Ayushman Arogya Mandir we moved from a selective approach to health care to deliver a comprehensive range of services spanning preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care. A holistic approach towards healthcare is now developed, said Shri. Jagat Prakash Nadda, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare Government of India.

Nadda, inaugurated the Centre for Nephrology and Urology at Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre, Lavale , Pune on Saturday, 26th April, 2025. Prof. Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Founder and President, Symbiosis and Chancellor, Symbiosis International University (SIU) presided over the function. Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, SIU and Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor, SIU were the other distinguished dignitaries present for the function.

Speaking at the occasion Nadda said, Under National Quality Assurance Standards (NWAS) currently we have 30 thousand Ayushman Arogya Mandir and our target is to create 1 lakh 75 thousand in the immediate future to deliver comprehensive Primary Health Care, that is universal and free to users with a focus of wellness and the delivery of an expanded range of services closer to the community. Symbiosis Arogyadham is a prime example of Ayushman Arogya Mandir where state of the art facilities are available to the patients at no cost.

Everything at no cost is actually not possible but at Symbiosis Arogyadham they have made it possible which is a highly creditable thing. Intuitions like Symbiosis and Government should go hand in hand to create policies in the health sector which are of inclusive nature, Shri. Nadda added further.

Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, in his presidential address said, all of us, we dream and even God also dreams. One of God’s Dreams is to create a place where humanity can come together to realize the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. If India wants to become a Vishwaguru then it should be backed by Spirituality and the ideology of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Nowadays technology has made a significant contribution in connecting people across the world, Dr. Mujumdar added further.
