TCS IT Wiz 2015 Pune edition on October 6
The Pune edition of TCS IT Wiz, India’s biggest inter-school quiz, organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions will be held on Tuesday October 6 at Yaswantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud, Pune.
There is no entry fee. School students studying in class 8-12 are eligible to participate in the event. Each institution can send a multiple teams of 2 member each to participate.
TCS IT Wiz 2015 is held across 15 locations in India – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Visakhapatnam. The IT Wiz will be making its debut in Visakhapatnam this year.

Quiz format: The top six teams from the written preliminary round will qualify for the regionals finals. Only the top scoring team from each school will be called on stage in the event of multiple teams from the same school qualify for the final. The winner from the Regional finals will contest in the in the Mega Finals held in December. The winning team along with an escort will be flown to Mumbai.
Prizes: The Regional champion this year will walk away with an iPad air each while the runners-up will be rewarded an iPad mini along with a specially designed trophy and medals. The 6 finalists will also receive an array of prizes from TCS ranging from laptop bags, sippers, headphones, pen drives, and selfie stick with blue tooth. The Regional champions along with an escort will also fly to Mumbai for the Finals.
Tweeporting: The regional finals will have a Twitter contest for all the participants and the top two tweeple with the highest tweets on the day of the Quiz will receive a selfie stick, pen drive and headphone in each city.
Tweet and earn points: The twitter contest will also involve a point earning system with each tweet. The Top three highest scorers across the 15 cities from July 31 to December 10, will win themselves gift voucher worth Rs.15,000, 10,000 and 5000 respectively.

The quiz aims to build awareness and emphasize the importance of IT skills, and has sought to bring in a paradigm shift in the world of quizzing with a mix of intelligent and interesting questions from the world of Information Technology. TCS IT Wiz, a ‘knowledge Initiative’ started in 1999, is the biggest inter-school IT Quiz in India for students of class 8-12. The quiz aims to build awareness and emphasize the importance of IT skills. This will enable students to look at technology through a whole new perspective.
