The 24th edition of Kalashree Sangeet Mahotsav to be held between February 18 and 20

Pune, February 14, 2022: Punekars will get a chance to enjoy a three-day feast of Indian Classical Music during the 24th edition of Kalashree Sangeet Mahotsav this year. Organized by Kalashree Sangeet Mandal, the musical program will be held between Friday, February 18 and Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 5 pm at Nilu Phule Rangmandir in Navi Sangavi, Pune. The three-day concert will host several performances by renowned artists for the audience.

The festival will be inaugurated by MLA Laxman Jagtap on Friday in the presence of the chairperson of the program, Mayor Usha (Maaie) Dhore.  The 24th Kalashree Award will be presented to Pandit Keshav Ginde, while Kalashree Yuva Puraskar in the memory of Late Shakuntala Dore will be given to Viraj Joshi, grandson of Bharat Ratna, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. This information was given by Sudhakar Chavan, President of Kalashree Sangeet Mandal.

Day one on Friday, February 18, vocalist Pandit Sudhakar Chavan will present his songs, which will be followed by a Kathak dance performance by dancer and actress, Sharvari Jamenis.

On Saturday, February 19 famous vocalist Arshad Ali Khan will perform Indian Classical Songs and will be followed by Pandit Atul Kumar Upadhyay who will give a performance on violin.

On Sunday, February 20, which will be the closing day, the audience will get to enjoy a musical evening with vocalist Viraj Joshi and it will be followed by a performance by vocalist Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar.

The musicians will be accompanied by famous artists Mukesh Jadhav, Nikhil Phatak, Prashant Pandav, Pandurang Pawar, Nandkishore Dore and Vaibhav Khandolkar on Tabla, and Prabhakar Pandav, Tanmay Deochake, Abhinay Khande and Gangadhar Shinde on Harmonium.
