‘They Mocked Modi, Now He’s Answered’: Pune Widow Sangeeta Ganbote Backs Operation Sindoor

Kondhwa, 7th May 2025: The death of Pune resident Kaustubh Ganbote in the recent Pahalgam terror attack has become a tragic symbol of civilian loss—and a powerful catalyst for India’s bold retaliation. Just two weeks after the massacre that claimed 26 innocent lives in Jammu & Kashmir, the Indian government has launched Operation Sindoor, a high-impact military response targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
In the early hours of Wednesday, Indian armed forces carried out precision airstrikes on nine identified terror camps in PoK. Official sources confirm that dozens of terrorists were neutralized in the operation, including three senior Jaish-e-Mohammed commanders.
The offensive comes in direct response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where unarmed civilians—including tourists like Ganbote from Pune—were gunned down in cold blood. Kaustubh Ganbote was vacationing with his wife Sangeeta, their friends, and family when tragedy struck.
Speaking to reporters, Sangeeta Ganbote called the operation a “fitting reply” to the horror they endured. “Operation Sindoor is a very apt name. PM Modi has taken a commendable and timely step. The terrorists had mocked Modi with their words, and now he has responded with strength. Pakistan has been taught a serious lesson,” she said.
According to eyewitness accounts from Pahalgam, the attackers had taunted their victims before the assault, allegedly saying, “Go tell Modi what we did.” That provocation now seems to have received its answer.
The operation has drawn widespread support across the country, with citizens, security experts, and political leaders applauding the move. Military analysts have described Operation Sindoor as not just a tactical success but also a strategic message: India will not tolerate terror, and it will retaliate with force when provoked.
