Pune, 7th December 2024: Theft incidents such as robbery, chain-snatching, and burglary are common, with citizens relying on the police to curb them. However, in a surprising twist, thieves targeted the premises of a police station under the Pune City Police Commissionerate, stealing tyres and lights from four-wheelers seized by the police.

The incident took place near the Chaturshringi Police Station, where a case has been registered against unknown culprits. Typically, vehicles seized in connection with crimes or other offenses are stored on police station premises or nearby areas. In this case, the stolen items were taken from vehicles parked at the Students’ Facilitation Center of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), located close to the Chaturshringi Police Station.

The thieves stole eight tyres from two four-wheelers and five lights, amounting to a total loss of Rs 1.10 lakh. Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Jadhav is leading the investigation into the theft.
