Solapur, 26th May 2025: Three priests were stranded at the Mahadev Temple located in the Bhima riverbed near Gursale village on Monday (26th May) morning after a sudden rise in water levels. A rescue operation by the disaster management team is currently in progress.
The priests, identified as Subhash Dhavan, Vitthal Lohkare, and Jadhav Maharaj, had gone to the temple for morning rituals. However, rising water levels in the river left them unable to return. They alerted local villagers, who immediately informed the administration.
A disaster response team reached the spot shortly after and began the rescue operation. The priests are reported to be safe and are currently outside the temple premises. The temple, situated on elevated ground, has not yet been affected by the floodwater, but the surrounding area has been submerged, making exit impossible.
