The first TiE Pune Healthcare Summit was conducted last year. It saw over 200 participants from across the country share ideas, best practices and experiences.  Pune has the potential to be one of the most thriving healthcare startup ecosystems in India with large healthcare companies and research institutions on one end and dynamic innovations coming through early stage startups addressing a wide variety of problems on the other end of the spectrum. Add to it the fact that many organizations and universities are now focusing on healthcare-specific skill development initiatives to enable a talent pool ready to be harnessed.

In the midst of all these conducive factors, what Pune requires is a push in the right direction and TiE Pune is just doing that through its second TiE Pune Healthcare Summit. Vishwas Mahajan, former Global Trustee of TiE, who pioneered the idea of having a dedicated healthcare event in Pune says, “We started the ‘Pune Healthcare Summit’ initiative to bring all the stakeholders of healthcare ecosystem together – medical and health professionals, pharma and R&D units, policymakers, insurance players, etc. and connect them with the startup, tech and investment ecosystem. The objective is to make Pune the ‘Boston’ of India in terms of healthcare innovation.”
