Haryana, 30th May 2022: A man on Sunday climbed a mobile tower in Karnal, Haryana, fed up with repeated insults over injury marks on his face. The resident of Hasanpur village sought financial assistance from the government for surgery on his face and hands.

Bharat alias Kala, 23, a welder by profession, alleged that people often make derogatory remarks about him because of his ugly face. He said, “No one likes to see me. I face discrimination wherever I go. I got these marks because of an accident.”

A large number of villagers gathered on the spot. Bharat refused to listen to their arguments and said that he would not come down until the authorities assured him of help. He finally got down after 24 hours after SHO Tarshem Singh and Naib Tehsildar Ram Kumar assured help for treatment.

Bharat’s brother Kuldeep said that he had suffered an injury in his childhood when the stove exploded while making tea. “He was taken to the hospital, where his injuries were treated. The family was not able to afford the surgery. So he was left in the same condition,” he said.
