New Delhi, 30th May 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced the facilities available under the PM Cares for Children scheme. The scheme will help the children who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic. He informed that the children would get free treatment up to Rs.5 lakh. He said that Ayushman health card is also being issued for this. The government has made arrangements to provide loans for professional courses and higher education through PM Cares.

 

On Monday, PM Modi said, “I know, how difficult is this change in the lives of those who have lost their loved ones due to Corona. In such challenges, PM Cares for Children is a small effort to reduce the difficulties of all of you, such corona affected children.”

 

The PM said that no child needs to worry for treatment. He said that the children will be given Ayushman Health Cards through PM Cares. The treatment of upto 5 lakh will be provided for free for such children.

 

Apart from this, the government has announced to give stipend and financial help to the students. The PM said, “If someone needs an education loan for professional courses, for higher education, then PM Cares will help in that too. For other daily needs, arrangements have also been made for 4 thousand rupees every month for them through other schemes.”

 

He said, “When such children complete their schooling, then more money will be needed for future dreams. For this, youth of 18-23 years will get stipend every month and when you are 23 years old then you will get 10 lakh rupees together.”

 

The release from the Prime Minister’s Office said, “The objective of this scheme is to make arrangements for the accommodation and food of the children, to empower them through education and scholarship, for their self-reliant existence, on attaining the age of 23 years, with a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh. To ensure their comprehensive care and protection by equipping them and ensuring their welfare through health insurance.”
