To Curb Human-Wildlife Conflicts In Pune, Forest Department Sets Up Rapid Response Team

Pune, 6th October 2021: A well-equipped Rapid Response Team (RRT) has been set up by the Pune Forest Department to take a step further to curb the human-wildlife conflicts in the Pune district.

On October 4, the RRT office was inaugurated by Sunil Limaye, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) at the Mafco Garden in the Bhamburda forest range office.

On this occasion Chief Conservator of Forests Sujay Dodal, Conservator of Forests Ranganath Naikade, Deputy Conservator of Forests Rahul Patil and other officials were present.

DCF Rahul Patil said, “The RRT will play a vital role in reducing the growing human-wildlife conflict in the city. The Pune Forest Department will provide training to RRT members on how to rescue the animal during emergencies, manage crowds on the spot and handling the rescue equipment etc.”
