Lonavala, 22nd January 2024: In a move to enhance highway infrastructure, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is set to install a gantry on the Yashwantrao Chavan Pune-Mumbai Expressway. The construction is scheduled to take place on January 23 (Tuesday) between 12 noon and 2 pm. The installation site is located at Km 24.250 on the Mumbai channel and Km 56.900 on the Pune channel, specifically at Kusgaon Wadi.

During this period, traffic diversions have been put in place to ensure the safety and smooth progress of the construction work. For light vehicles traveling from Pune to Mumbai, the diversion route involves taking Lane 55 on the Mumbai Channel and then proceeding on National Highway No. 48, the old Pune-Mumbai Highway.

For both light vehicles and buses traveling from Pune to Mumbai, the diversion starts at the Khopoli exit at km 39.800. From there, they are directed to take National Highway No. 48, the Old Pune Mumbai Highway, passing through Khopoli town and subsequently connecting to the Mumbai Channel via the Shedung Toll Road.

Light and heavy vehicles from Pune to Mumbai will be rerouted through the Khalapur toll plaza, specifically the last lane from the Khalapur exit at km 32.500 on National Highway No. 48, the old Pune-Mumbai highway. This route encompasses Khopoli town and Shedung toll plaza on the Mumbai channel.

Vehicles traveling from Pune to Mumbai on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway 48 will follow a straightforward route towards Panvel from Shedung Phata.

The MSERDC has urged commuters to adhere to these diversions and has specifically noted that all types of vehicles going from Mumbai to Pune will be diverted from the Kusgaon toll gate at Km 54.900. These vehicles will then follow the diversion to National Highway No. 48, the Old Pune Mumbai Highway, on the Pune side.

As construction activities progress, these temporary traffic diversions are crucial for ensuring the safety of commuters and facilitating the efficient execution of the gantry installation project on the Expressway. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly during the specified construction hours, MSRDC has appealed.
