Pune, 31st October 2025: Motorists at the junction opposite Pune Airport are facing daily chaos due to the absence of traffic signals and insufficient traffic police deployment. The disorderly driving not only disrupts traffic flow but also worsens the congestion on this busy route.

According to regular commuters and local residents, the stretch between Air Force Station Chowk and 509 Chowk witnesses long queues of vehicles during peak hours. The lack of traffic discipline, coupled with inadequate management, has made this section one of the most congested in the area.

The stretch between Kendriya Vidyalaya no. 2 and Kalwad also witnesses traffic jams during peak hours.

Citizens and air passengers have urged authorities to deploy additional traffic police personnel — not merely for issuing challans, but specifically to regulate and ease the movement of vehicles. They believe a dedicated team to manage traffic at crucial hours could significantly reduce the gridlock.

In addition, commuters have demanded road widening along the airport route to provide a permanent solution to the recurring traffic snarls. Many travellers heading to and from the airport have reported missing flights or facing long delays due to the daily bottlenecks.

Residents, frequent fliers, and cab drivers have collectively appealed to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Traffic Police Department to address the issue on priority, ensuring smooth vehicular movement along one of the city’s most vital corridors.
