Traffic Delayed on Mumbai Pune Expressway Due to Accident in Khandala Tunnel
Lonavala, 19th April 2023: Several vehicles were involved in an accident in the Khandala tunnel on the Mumbai Pune Expressway this morning. The accident took place on the Pune Lane, causing a huge traffic jam on the expressway. Queues of vehicles stretched from Khandala Tunnel to Anda Point to Tata Gate.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the Highway Police and IRB’s rescue team rushed to the spot. They have started a lane towards Pune by keeping the accident vehicles aside. Efforts are being made to move all the vehicles aside and open all the lanes as soon as possible.
However, due to the long queues of vehicles caused by the accident, there will be some delay in the normalization of traffic. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes to avoid the traffic congestion.
