Traffic Diversions Announced in Pune for Navratri Festival

Pune, 20th September 2025: Pune city is gearing up for the grand celebration of Navratri Utsav from September 22 to October 2, 2025. Large crowds of devotees are expected to visit the Chatushrangi Mata Mandir, Bhavani Mata Mandir, and Tambdi Jogeshwari Mandir during the festival. To ensure smooth traffic flow and hassle-free darshan, the Pune City Traffic Police has announced several traffic restrictions, diversions, and parking arrangements.

Traffic Arrangements and Diversions

  1. Appa Balwant Chowk
  • The road from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk will be closed to traffic.
  • One-way movement will be allowed from Budhwar Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk when required.
  • Alternative Route: Vehicles can reach Appa Balwant Chowk via Shivaji Road and Gadital Putla.

2. Bhavani Mata Mandir

  • Mahatma Phule Road (between Ramoshi Gate Chowk and Old Motor Stand) will be closed to all vehicles except essential services.
  • No parking will be allowed on this stretch. Vehicles should be parked on Pandit Nehru Road or nearby designated zones.
  • Alternative Routes:
    • From Sant Kabir Chowk → via A.D. Camp Chowk → Old Motor Stand → destination.
    • From Dhole Patil Chowk → via Bhagwan Bahubali Chowk → Old Motor Stand.
    • Jadhav Road’s one-way restriction (Manikdas Maharaj Chowk to Bhagwan Bahubali Chowk) will be relaxed during Navratri.
  • PMPML buses from Ramoshi Gate will be rerouted via Seven Loves Chowk, Golibil Maidan Chowk, and Khane Maruti Chowk.

3.Tambdi Jogeshwari Mandir

  • Entry to Tambdi Jogeshwari Road (between Ganapati Chowk on Laxmi Road and the temple) will be restricted.
  • Vehicle entry from Sakal Press to Jogeshwari Temple will be prohibited, except for essential services.
  • Alternative Route: Vehicles from Laxmi Road to Ganapati Chowk heading to Jogeshwari Temple should use Seva Sadan Chowk → Shaniwarwada route, avoiding Bajirao Road to Appa Balwant Chowk.

No-Parking Zones (September 22–October 2):

  • Tambdi Jogeshwari, 33 Budhwar Peth
  • Ashtabhuja Devi Mandir, 424 Shaniwar Peth
  • Ashtabhuja Durga Devi, 624 Narayan Peth

Designated Parking Areas:

  • Riverbed road between Tilak Bridge and Bhide Bridge
  • Minerva and Aryan / Late Satish Misal parking lot at Mandai
  • Parking zones in nearby roads

4.Chatushrangi Mata Mandir, Senapati Bapat Road

  • In case of congestion, vehicles from Patrakar Nagar Chowk will be diverted via Shivaji Housing Chowk.
  • If traffic increases further, vehicles will be diverted via Vetalbaba Chowk, Deep Bangla Chowk, and Om Super Market route, instead of directly towards the temple.
  • Parking: Polytechnic Grounds parking via Shivaji Housing Chowk → Late Sawant Chowk → Firodia Path.
  • Devotees from Veer Chaphekar Chowk should use Thorat Chowk, Deep Bangla Chowk, or Sanganna Dhotre Path via Ganeshkhind Road to reach Polytechnic Parking Gate.

Appeal to Citizens

Traffic police have urged devotees and drivers to avoid restricted routes, follow diversions, and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth darshan and traffic management during the 10-day festival.
