Traffic Restrictions Announced in Pune for Amit Shah’s Visit on July 4
Pune, 3rd July 2025: In view of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Pune on Friday (July 4), the city’s traffic police have announced temporary diversions and vehicle restrictions across several key traffic divisions to ensure smooth vehicular movement and enhanced security.
According to an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav, traffic modifications will be in effect under the Bundgarden, Kalepadal, Kondhwa, and Bharati Vidyapeeth traffic divisions.
Two-Way Traffic on Circuit House Route
In the Bundgarden traffic division, the road stretch from Mor Odha to Circuit House Chowk to I.B. Chowk, which is normally operated as a one-way route, will be temporarily converted to two-way traffic, based on operational requirements during the VIP movement.
Heavy Vehicle Ban from Noon to 5 PM
In a separate directive covering the Kalepadal, Kondhwa, and Bharati Vidyapeeth traffic zones, all heavy and slow-moving vehicles including dumpers, mixers, trucks, goods transporters, and bulky commercial vehicles will be prohibited from plying between:
Mantarwadi Phata
Khadi Machine Chowk
Katraj Chowk
This restriction will be enforced from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on July 4, the day of the minister’s visit.
Public Advised to Plan Travel Accordingly
The traffic police have appealed to citizens and commuters to cooperate with the temporary arrangements and plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays or inconvenience.
“These changes have been made to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and security arrangements during the visit,” said DCP Himmat Jadhav in the release.
