Traffic Restrictions in Pune on June 22 for Palkhi Procession; Commuters Advised to Use Alternate Routes

Pune, 21st June 2025: In view of the grand departure of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions towards Pandharpur on Sunday, June 22, the Pune Traffic Police have announced major traffic restrictions across key routes in the city, especially around Nana Peth, Bhavani Peth, and the Solapur Road corridor.

Both Palkhis are set to commence their onward journey early Sunday morning. Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi will begin from the Palakhi Vitthal Mandir in Bhavani Peth, while Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi will depart from the Nivdung Vitthal Temple in Nana Peth.

Following tradition, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi will proceed via Hadapsar and Dive Ghat to halt at Saswad, while Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s procession will travel via Solapur Road and halt at Loni Kalbhor.

Traffic Diversions and Road Closures:

To ensure a smooth passage for the revered processions and avoid congestion, traffic on several arterial routes will be completely restricted starting from the early hours of Sunday. Police have requested citizens and motorists to plan their travel accordingly and use alternate roads.
