Tragic Loss Unites ‘Dangal’ Team in Grief: Remembering Suhani Bhatnagar

New Delhi, 19th February 2024: The news of the passing of 19-year-old Suhani Bhatnagar on Saturday has deeply shaken the entire ‘Dangal’ team. Suhani Bhatnagar portrayed the childhood role of Babita Phogat, played by Aamir Khan’s youngest daughter, in the blockbuster film released in 2018.

She received much praise for her performance in this role. Her parents revealed that Suhani had been battling with a condition called Dermatomyositis, a muscular disease, which was only recently discovered by their family.

Suhani Bhatnagar, who worked as a child artist in ‘Dangal’, her mother tearfully explained, was always closely connected with Aamir Khan and his family, but they never informed the actor about their daughter’s illness.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Suhani Bhatnagar’s mother revealed how Aamir Khan had always stood by their family. When asked if there had been any communication from Bollywood, Suhani’s mother replied,

Additionally, Aamir Khan had expressed his desire to attend our daughter’s wedding, but we were unable to proceed as planned due to Suhani fracturing her leg at that time. While reminiscing about her daughter, Suhani’s mother found herself unable to contain her tears.

She mentioned that after ‘Dangal’, her daughter had only done a few advertisement shoots as her parents wanted Suhani to complete her education first. Suhani’s mother expressed that her daughter’s plans included pursuing a career in acting.

This unfortunate incident has brought the ‘Dangal’ team together in mourning as they remember the vibrant young talent that Suhani Bhatnagar was.
