Train Travel: Once Again Second Reservation Chart Will Be Released To Show Vacant Berths

Pune, October 7, 2020: Indian Railways have made a big change in the Reservation Rules keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. According to the railway, now the second reservation chart will also be released 30 minutes before the departure from the train station. This step has been taken by the Indian Railways based on the request from all the zonal railways.
The motive behind this change is that tickets can be booked online and at PRS counters for vacant seats based on the first reservation chart. In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Railways had taken a temporary decision to issue another reservation chart 2 hours before the departure of the train. Railways issues the first reservation chart 4 hours before the train departs.
To prevent the spread of Coronavirus in India, the central government had put a lockdown across the country. All transport services were temporarily stopped. More than 12 thousand trains running on normal days were cancelled.
Indian Railways started running special trains after May 1 with conditions. On May 11, 2020, the Indian Railways temporarily changed the rules for issuing the second reservation chart for trains. Under this, the second reservation chart was to be released 2 hours before the departure of trains from the stations. This provision was made for special trains.
Prior to the Coronavirus period, the first reservation chart was issued 4 hours before the schedule or rescheduling of the trains before departure. At the same time, the second chart was released 30 minutes to 5 minutes before the opening of the train. Not only this, according to the provisions of Refund Rules, tickets booked can also be cancelled in this time period. Now once again the railway will issue the second ticket reservation chart 30 minutes before the departure from the train station.
