Pune/Nagpur, 22nd January 2026: A forgotten laptop bag containing valuables was traced and returned to a passenger of the Pune–Nagpur Garib Rath Express with the help of railway staff on January 22, 2026.

According to railway officials, Senior Travelling Ticket Examiner (Sr TTE) Ranjan Kumar located and handed over the missing laptop and valuables to the passenger’s relative at Wardha Railway Station during the morning hours.

The incident involved a female passenger travelling from Pune to Badnera, who inadvertently left her laptop bag on her berth. As per her relative, whose mobile number was registered on the ticket, the train was scheduled to reach Badnera around 6 a.m. In a hurry after waking up, the passenger forgot the bag and realized the loss a few minutes later. An immediate complaint was registered with the Railways.

“The response from the railway officials was prompt. They coordinated quickly and delivered the laptop to our friend at Wardha Junction. We are very thankful to Sr TTE Ranjan Kumar and the Rail Madad team,” the relative told Punekar News.

Official records show that the Pune–Nagpur Garib Rath Express departed Pune at 18:00 hrs on January 21, 2026, and arrived at Badnera at 06:20 hrs on January 22, 2026.

Speaking to Punekar News, Sr TTE Ranjan Kumar said that after receiving the message, he checked the concerned berth and found the laptop bag intact. After verifying the details and confirming the ownership over the phone with the passenger, the bag was formally handed over to the passenger’s relative at Wardha Junction in the presence of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel.

Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) Hemant Kumar Behera appreciated the alertness and coordination shown by the staff. He said that the Railways remain committed to passenger service and safety, and urged travelers to remain vigilant about their belongings. He also advised passengers to use official railway platforms for information and services, including checking live train status through authorized railway websites and downloading the official RailOne app, instead of relying on third-party applications.
