Cricketer Rohit Sharma Pays Fine For Overspeeding on Pune-Mumbai Expressway
Pune 22nd Oct 2023: The sources in the Highway Police have confirmed that two separate Challans have been issued against Rohit Sharma for over speeding his Lamborghini on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. The Challans were issued on Tuesday when Rohit was heading towards Pune from Mumbai ahead of a cricket match between India and Bangladesh at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium at Gahunje.
According to officials, Rohit’s car was issued Challans by an automated system installed on the expressway for violating the speed limit. The permitted speed on the expressway is 105 kmph while some sections have a lower speed limit. Rohit’s car was fined two Challans of Rs 2,000 each by CCTV cameras installed on the expressway to impose fines against traffic rules violators.
The cricketer’s car was spotted over speeding near Kamshet Tunnel and Sonatane Phata on the Expressway and both times he was driving above 110 kmph speed.
