Camp, June 22, 2020:The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) is worried over the increasing number of COVID patients being reported in new areas besides containment zones. Several new COVID19 patients have surfaced in Ghorpadi and newer areas.

Two of the elected members had recently contracted COVID19 and admitted to hospital for treatment. Besides, their family members have been quarantined. According to the PCB administration, the containment areas need to be restructured as the Coronavirus cases are increasing every day. The PCB has decided to open the non-containment area that comes under its jurisdiction on June 8, 2020, after two-and-a-half months of lockdown. The number of COVID cases has reached about 500 in PCB areas which include Camp, Ghorpadi, military area as well as Fatimanagar.

The decision was taken during a specially convened meeting by the board administration where the general body passed a resolution to the effect and the lockdown was lifted on a staggered basis in the non-containment zones. Seven containment zones are currently under lockdown till June 30.
