New Delhi, 7th July 2021: Aadhar Card is an essential ID proof for every person living in India today. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which makes Aadhaar cards, keeps alerting people about the updates related to it. UIDAI has now informed about the closure of two Aadhaar-related services.

1) Service related to address validation letter stopped.

UIDAI has stopped the facility of updating addresses in the Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter. Through this process, tenants or other holders are also used to update their addresses easily. UIDAI has now removed this option related to the address validation letter from its website. As per the information given by UIDAI, the facility of Address Validation Letter has been discontinued till further orders. Now people can update their address through any one address proof from this list of other valid address proof (https://uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/valid_documents_list.pdf). However, the closure of this service of UIDAI will affect those people who do not have any other documents available to change the address.

2) Service of  Aadhaar Card Reprint is closed as well

UIDAI has now stopped reprinting the old old Aadhaar card. UIDAI now issues a PVC Aadhaar card which is quite attractive and the size of which is as small as a debit card. This new card can easily fit in your pocket or wallet. The size of the Aadhaar card earlier used to be huge. On the other hand, if people want to keep the Aadhaar inflexible paper format, then you can get the printout of e-Aadhaar.
