Two Mobile Phones Seized From Yerwada Jail, Seven Prisoners Booked
Pune 3rd July 2023: In yet another case of phone seizure at the Yerawada Central Prison, the jail authorities have seized two more mobile phones and sim cards from the prisoners. The action came after a search was conducted following specific inputs. The officials have seized two mobile phones, two sim cards and two seperate batteries from the jail premises.
This was the sixth such incident of phone seizure at Yerawada Central Prison premises reported in the last three months.The seizure was made on June 28.
The jail officials on Saturday have lodged an FIR with the city police against seven undertrial prisoners in the matter under relevant sections.
